Our Pastor
Rev. Erik Hoeke has been appointed here at First UMC since July 2008. This is Pastor Erik’s first full-time appointment as a United Methodist minister. Prior to coming here, he received his Masters of Divinity from Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Ohio Northern University in Ada, OH.
Pastor Erik grew up in Upper St. Clair, PA, and is glad to be back “home” in Western Pennsylvania after several years away. He is married to Lisa, who works as a civil engineer for Lochner Engineering in Canonsburg, PA. Together they enjoy traveling, hiking, biking, reading, cooking, and cheering on the Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins.
